Dr. Heping Zhu and his team developed an amazing prototype nursery sprayer that does pretty much everything except fill itself. Currently in testing in multiple U.S. states, the Intelligent Sprayer is proving that optimizing pesticide applications in non-arable crops means a more consistent application, and in some cases, considerable pesticide savings.

We invited Heping and his team to demonstrate the sprayer in an Ontario nursery in 2014, and they did not disappoint.

This presentation was developed soon after the demo, but a few 2017 slides were added to update the progress of the Intelligent Sprayer’s march towards becoming commercially available.
